Tamaranth

Tamaranth is the oldest and most impressive of Talislanta’s woodland regions. It is home to two intelligent humanoid species: the avian Gryphs and the mystical Ariane.

The Gryphs

The Gryph clans serve as the self-appointed guardians of Tamaranth and its surrounding environs.

• Dwellings: They live in eyries built in the tops of the tallest span-oaks.
• Intelligence: Through their travels and communication with other avian species, they are often aware of events in distant lands.
• Defensive Stance: Following recent threats from Sub-Men, they have increased surveillance flights and fortified their eyries.

The Ariane

The Ariane are practitioners of transcendancy, a mystic doctrine that allows them to commune with all elements of nature.

• Altan: The majority live in this maze-city, meditating on the mysteries of the natural world.
• Seekers: Individuals who leave Tamaranth in search of enlightenment. They can be found almost anywhere in Talislanta. [^1]
• Goal: The Ariane send forth Seekers to better understand the developments of the outside world.
