The Sinking Land

The Sinking Land is situated in the farthest northeastern reaches of the Wilderlands of Zaran, west of the Volcanic Hills and south of the Opal Mountains.

Environment

The region is characterized by a bleak and depressing atmosphere:

• Atmosphere: Skies are perpetually dark and gray.
• Terrain: A vast quagmire of inert, brown sludge.

Flora and Fauna

Despite the harsh conditions, several species have adapted to this environment:

• Plants: Includes several varieties of giant fungi and the unique barge tree.
• The Snipe: An intelligent species of mud-dwelling mollusks. They can move through the muddy ground as swiftly as fish swim through water.
