The Seven Kingdoms
The territories designated as the Seven Kingdoms represent a loosely organized confederation of seven separate city-states, each ruled by its own king. Established during the New Age by the descendants of various peoples displaced by the Great Disaster, the Seven Kingdoms share a common government, known as the Council of Kings.
The Member Nations
The seven member nations of this unique confederation are:
- Cymril
- Durne
- Sindar
- Astar
- Taz
- Vardune
- Kasmir
Governance: The Council of Kings
The Seven Kingdoms’ Council of Kings meets once a month at the Royal Palace in Cymril.
- Decision Making: A majority vote decides all issues.
- Impasse: A four-to-three decision is known as an “impasse.” In this case, there is no official ruling, and each kingdom is free to establish its own laws until the following Council. [^1]
Defense and Security
The Seven Kingdoms are considered among the safest places on the continent due to their coordinated defense:
- Northern and Eastern Borderlands: Patrolled by bands of Thralls mounted on rugged Mangonel Lizards.
- Western and Southern Borders: Guarded by contingents of Blue Aeriad in river barge-forts, armed with crescent knives and dart throwers.
[^1]: This system often leads to confusion, as laws, tariffs, and prices may change abruptly between council meetings.
