Batre

Batre is a small tropical island located to the south of the Dark Coast. Its inhabitants, the Batreans, are known for their extreme sexual dimorphism and peculiar social history.

The Batrean People

• Males: Huge, dull-witted, and remarkably ugly.
• Females: Exceedingly intelligent and lovely beyond compare.

Recent History and Status

• Traditional Customs: Traditionally, Batrean males sold their womenfolk for gold. [^1]
• Imrian Annexation: In 602 N.A., the island was unexpectedly annexed by Imrian slavers.
• Current Situation: Batrean males have been relegated to the status of breeders. The Imrians now control all sales and trade involving Batrean females.

[^1]: Many believe the females actually instigated this practice themselves as a desperate means of escaping their boorish mates.
