The Labyrinths of Sharna

Located south of the desert kingdom of Carantheum, the Labyrinths of Sharna are a group of mazelike structures of extreme antiquity.

Debated Origins

Scholars are divided regarding the creators of these ruins:

• The Sharn: A long-dead race of whom almost nothing is known.
• The Shan: Another ancient race whose homeland was destroyed by fire during The Great Disaster. Some believe "Sharna" is a linguistic corruption of "Shan."

Inhabitants: The Ferrans

The area surrounding the ruins is populated by Ferrans.

• Appearance: Rodent-like humanoids of short stature.
• Lifestyle: They live in complex underground warrens.
• Behavior: They emerge in packs to scrounge for food or rob travelers of their possessions. [^1]

The Wanderers of Ashann

The last survivors of the Shan people, known as the Wanderers of Ashann, still frequent the area.

• Sightings: They are often found walking among the rubble of ruined cities.
• Mission: They appear to be searching for something lost long ago, though they rarely speak to outsiders.
