Orgovian
The Orgovians are a wiry and rugged nomadic people, hard and spare as flints. They are characterized by dusky-orange skin, protruding chins, squinty eyes, and nostrils that resemble vertical slits.
Appearance and Attire
- Clothing: They typically wear leather vests, loincloths, curl-toed boots, and brown felt headdresses.
- Decoration: It is fashionable to wear dozens of iron armbands as adornment.
- Temperament: Suspicious of civilized folk, they are fiercely practical and value honesty in trade.
History and Origins
The Orgovians are the last remnants of the kingdom of Orgovia.
- The Ruin: Following The Great Disaster, their homeland was overrun by savage tribes, driving the survivors into a nomadic existence.
- The Lead Yatma: The phrase "not worth a lead yatma" originates from their former currency, which became worthless after the kingdom's fall.
Nomadic Lifestyle
Orgovians are nomadic traders who range across the Wilderlands of Zaran, the Desert Kingdoms, and beyond.
- Bands: They travel in armed groups of up to twenty individuals, moving constantly on loper steeds.
- Childhood: Infants are wrapped in swaddling and affixed to their mother's steed; most Orgovians learn to ride before they can walk.
- Barter: Ever since the devaluation of their currency, they have dealt exclusively in barter. Offering them coin is often interpreted as an attempt to rob them, frequently leading to violence. [^1]
