Phantasian
The Phantasians are a pale-skinned people, tall and remarkably thin, with delicate features reminiscent of the Thaecians. They typically dress in long, trailing robes, conical caps, and necklaces made of colored crystals.
Origins and Cabal Magicus
The Phantasians are believed to be descended from the Archaens of ancient Elande, a sky-city destroyed during The Great Disaster.
- The Castle: They reside in Cabal Magicus, a fabulous castle that hovers high above the Isle of Phantas, tethered to the ground by massive chains of adamant.
- Lost Secrets: While the castle was built using solidified "cloud-stuff," the modern Phantasians have forgotten the secret of its manufacture and struggle merely to keep the structure afloat.
Decline and Survival
Phantasian society is in a state of visible decline, with many viewing them as sad relics of a forgotten age.
- Diet: Once accustomed to luxury, they now subsist on bland hydroponic foods and nutritive elixirs.
- Economy: Their livelihood depends on the few secrets they have retained: the construction of windships and the distillation of dream essence.
- Outlook: Many Phantasians harbor a nostalgic yearning for the old Archaen colonial worldview and their ancestors' former dominance.
